About James Lucas
James Lucas Graham built a steady legal career in Arkansas after completing degrees in criminal justice and law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Arkansas State University and later took his law degree from the William H. Bowen School of Law. Those credentials set the stage for work that has ranged from private practice to municipal legal service.
He began practicing soon after law school and was a founding partner of Graham and Ethridge, P.A. in 2008. That firm provided him an early platform to try cases and handle client matters across several areas of civil litigation. In 2011 he opened The Graham Law Office, moving into sole ownership and establishing a base for individual representation and trial work. Two years later, in 2013, he took on the role of City Lawyer for the City of Malvern, an appointment that added municipal law and local government advising to his portfolio.
Over the years Graham has maintained memberships in professional organizations such as the Arkansas Bar Association and trial-focused groups, including the National Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is also involved in his community through Liberty Chapel. These affiliations reflect an ongoing engagement with litigation practice and local civic institutions rather than a checklist of accolades.
Graham is admitted to practice in Arkansas and before the Federal Circuit. That combination of admissions has allowed him to handle matters in state courts and to engage with federal appellate procedures when cases require it. His courtroom experience grew from the early days at Graham and Ethridge to the solo practice he runs today, where he continues to appear in hearings and trials on behalf of clients.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who prefers direct and pragmatic work. He has balanced private clients’ needs with responsibilities to a municipal client, shifting between advocacy in litigation and advising on local government questions. He has kept his practice local while maintaining the capacity to take on matters that touch federal jurisdiction.
He is currently the owner and principal attorney at The Graham Law Office in Arkansas. He focuses his practice on litigation, municipal representation, and civil matters in Arkansas.
