About James

James Keim began his legal path at The College of Wooster, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1991. He went on to Stetson University College of Law and received his J.D. in 1996. Those years set a clear course for a practice rooted in state-level litigation and client representation.

After law school Keim was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1996. That same year he established his own practice, operating as James Edwin Keim, Lawyer at Law. He has carried the firm’s name since its founding and remains the partner and owner. Running a small practice has meant juggling casework, client intake and the administrative side of a law office for three decades.

Keim’s professional affiliations map out his professional interests. He joined the American Association for Justice in 1995 and later became active in its Nursing Home Litigation Group, a membership he has held since 2003. He is also an Eagle Patron of the Florida Justice Association, a designation he has maintained since 1995. His long-term ties to those organizations suggest steady engagement with plaintiff-side litigation communities in Florida.

Within the Florida Bar, Keim took on committee work that reached beyond his own practice. He served as chair of the Statewide Advertising & Solicitation Grievance Committee from 2006 to 2009. He also served on The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee from 2008 to 2014. Those roles placed him in the oversight and educational wings of the state bar, handling matters tied to professional standards and lawyer education.

Colleagues and peers see Keim as a lawyer who has built a practice through steady participation in professional groups and hands-on case management. He has remained based in Florida and maintained active bar standing throughout his career. His firm’s longevity reflects a practice model that combines individual client work with participation in broader legal institutions.

Today Keim continues to operate James Edwin Keim, Lawyer at Law in Florida. He remains an active member of the state bar and national plaintiff-oriented associations, and he represents clients in civil litigation in Florida, including cases arising from nursing home care and related claims.
