About James
James Kamensky is an attorney who trained at Florida International University College of Law. He arrived at law school intent on practical training and took on clinic work while he studied. His early path through clinical programs and internships left him comfortable in both courtroom settings and client-facing roles.
At FIU College of Law he served as a student lawyer in the Business Innovation Technology Clinic in 2019. That experience exposed him to transactional matters, counseling small entities, and the mechanics of lawyering under supervision. The clinic work complemented classroom study. It also gave him hands-on exposure to drafting and client meetings that many new lawyers do not see until later in their careers.
Before and after his clinic placement he built a short but steady apprenticeship through public-interest and private-practice roles. In 2018 he was a legal intern at Legal Aid Service of Broward County, where he handled intake, supported case preparation, and observed hearings. Those months in legal aid framed an early understanding of access to justice and practical problem solving. In 2019 he worked as a junior associate at Navarro McKown. In that role he took on research, drafted memoranda, and assisted on litigation matters, learning the rhythms of firm practice and court procedure.
Also in 2019 he joined Kanner & Pintaluga and is listed as a partner. At the firm he has carried responsibilities that include supervising case teams, managing client communications, and participating in litigation strategy and courtroom work. Colleagues and court filings show him handling day-to-day litigation tasks as part of the firm’s broader caseload. He balances trial preparation and client advising while also contributing to internal case management.
He is licensed to practice in Florida and works from Kanner & Pintaluga’s office in that state. He continues to take assignments that involve courtroom work, client counseling, and case preparation in Florida. He is currently based at Kanner & Pintaluga in Florida, where he practices matters in Florida state courts.
