About James
James Imbriale built his legal foundation at Emory. He earned a B.A. in Economics and International Studies in 1987, then stayed on for law school, receiving his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1990. Those years in Atlanta set the stage for a career rooted in Georgia courts and the federal benches that sit in the state.
He began practicing after law school and established himself in Georgia. Over time he became admitted to practice before a range of tribunals, including the Georgia Court of Appeals and the federal courts in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. He also holds membership with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Those admissions have allowed him to handle matters that cross state and federal lines and to take cases where federal jurisdiction is involved.
Imbriale’s professional life has been intertwined with trial work. He belongs to organizations that reflect that orientation, such as the American Association for Justice, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Georgia Personal Injury Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to developments in trial practice and the procedural shifts that affect litigation strategy.
The bulk of his practice centers on personal injury litigation. He has spent years taking cases through pretrial steps, discovery and, when appropriate, to trial. That work requires attention to medical records, causation questions and an understanding of how local judges and juries respond to different kinds of evidence. He manages the practical side of cases as much as the legal theory — finding experts, marshaling documents and preparing witnesses for testimony.
Colleagues describe him as a steady courtroom presence who favors clear, direct advocacy. He has handled claims under state tort law and matters that touch on federal jurisdiction. His experience in both arenas allows him to assess early whether a case belongs in state or federal court and to choose a procedural path that serves his client’s interests.
Today he practices at Imbriale Injury Law. He handles personal injury matters in Georgia state and federal courts and remains active in professional associations tied to litigation and trial practice. His current practice concentrates on representing clients in personal injury cases at Imbriale Injury Law.
