James Francis Sexton is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1990 and holds bar number 149632. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Sexton is the owner of The Sexton Law Firm, a full-service law firm with offices in Chula Vista, Oceanside, and La Mesa, California. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Sexton earned his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, graduating in 1990. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his time at California Western, he gained practical experience by representing clients in various legal matters, laying the foundation for his future practice.
Mr. Sexton concentrates his practice in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, bankruptcy, estate planning, and criminal law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving workplace injuries, car accidents, wage and hour disputes, and personal injury claims. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Chapin Fleming & Winet and as an attorney for Farmer's Insurance Group, gaining valuable experience in insurance defense and personal injury law.
Mr. Sexton is an active member of the California State Bar Association and holds membership in the American Bar Association. He is also a certified mediator through the San Diego County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Sexton is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
