About James

James Feigen built his legal foundation in Austin. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 and returned there to complete a J.D. in 2020. Between those degrees he pursued additional law study at St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2017. The sequence shows a steady path toward courtroom work and appellate exposure.

Early in his legal training Feigen sought practical experience. In 2017 he served as an intern with the Texas Supreme Court, where he observed the appellate process and supported court staff. The following summer he worked as a litigation associate at Jackson Walker. That role put him inside file rooms, court dockets and client meetings, exposing him to the rhythms of litigation practice in a busy firm.

Those formative positions influenced his approach to cases. He learned research, case analysis and how trial teams organize factual records. He also saw how appellate and trial practices intersect, and how a single procedural decision can change the course of litigation. His time in both the court and firm settings shaped the practical habits he brings to client matters today.

After finishing law school in 2020, Feigen pursued a path that kept him in Texas courts. He joined McMinn Law Office where he is currently listed among the lawyers at that firm. His practice draws on the litigation experience he accumulated as a summer associate and the procedural insight gained during his court internship. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and careful in assessing case posture.

Outside of court work he maintains memberships in professional associations. He keeps current on developments in Texas law through those networks and through ongoing practice. He also continues to rely on the classroom foundations he built at the University of Texas and St. Mary’s.

Feigen’s trajectory is straightforward: classroom study followed by court and firm internships, then steady work at a Texas law office. He practices in Texas and focuses on litigation matters at McMinn Law Office.
