About James C.
James C. Twine built a methodical path into the law. He earned a B.S. in Political Science from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master’s in Public Administration from Texas State University. He completed his legal training at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, taking the J.D. in 2013. Those degrees framed an interest in how courts and public institutions work.
Twine’s early years in the legal field were hands-on. He worked in county offices and as a paralegal while moving toward practice. In 2007 he held positions in the Williamson County District Clerk and at Williamson County Court at Law No. 2. Later roles included paralegal work at the University of Texas–San Antonio and at a private law office. After law school he served as a law clerk and associate at McGirr Law, P.C. in 2014. A year later he opened the Law Office of James C. Twine, PLLC, representing clients directly and managing the day-to-day demands of a small practice. In 2022 he formed a partnership and began practicing as a partner at Price & Twine, PLLC.
His practice centers on criminal defense in Texas state courts. He is a member of professional groups that reflect that orientation, including the National College for DUI Defense and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Locally he belongs to the Williamson County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Williamson County Bar Association. Those affiliations suggest an emphasis on trial work and on issues commonly arising in county-level criminal prosecutions, including driving-related offenses.
Colleagues and court records show a lawyer who moved steadily from support roles to trial work. The shift from paralegal and clerk positions into law practice gave him familiarity with court procedures and records management. He has drawn on that background in handling client matters and in running his own office since 2015. His practice has involved courtroom appearances and pretrial advocacy, and he has operated both as a sole practitioner and as part of a partnership.
Twine is licensed to practice law in Texas and maintains memberships in state and national defense organizations. He works from the Price & Twine, PLLC office and accepts cases in the regional courts where he has long ties. He currently practices criminal defense and DUI defense at Price & Twine, PLLC.
