About James A.
James A. Beckstrom built a path to law that mixed business roles and courtroom experience. He completed a B.S. at California State University, Fullerton in 2012 and earned his J.D. from UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law in 2015. Those credentials set the stage for a career that moves between private industry and the judicial branch.
Before law school and while still young in his career, Beckstrom held managerial posts in companies that handled field services and postings. He was Director of Human Resources & Field Services at Beckstrom Posting Inc. in 2006 and later served as President of Superior Default Services Inc. in 2011. Those positions provided early exposure to procedural and operational aspects of default and trustee work.
During and after law school he gained firsthand experience inside the courts. In 2015 he served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Michael P. Villani at the Eighth Judicial District Court of Nevada, and he followed that role with a law clerk position for Judge Villani in 2016. Those years in the courthouse offered close observation of trial procedures, motion practice, and the day-to-day demands of case management.
After completing his clerkship, Beckstrom joined Marquis Aurbach Coffing as a lawyer in 2017. He spent several years there developing litigation skills and working on matters typical of a busy civil practice. In 2022 he moved to Beckstrom & Beckstrom, LLP, where he continues his practice.
Beckstrom holds licensing in Nevada and California. He is active in professional and interest groups that reflect his practice areas, including memberships in the United Trustee Association, the American Association for Justice, the Consumer Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, and the Nevada Justice Association. Those affiliations indicate ongoing engagement with both consumer-oriented litigation and trustee-related issues.
Colleagues and clients see him as a lawyer who moves comfortably between courtroom work and transactional or administrative matters that accompany default and trustee practice. He handles civil litigation and consumer matters, and he brings courtroom experience gained from his clerkship and subsequent litigation roles. He currently practices at Beckstrom & Beckstrom, LLP, where his work centers on civil litigation, consumer law, and trustee-related matters.
