About Jake Michael
Jake Michael Ramey took a dual academic path at Texas Tech University, earning both a Juris Doctor and an MBA in 1998. The combination of law and business school shaped a practical approach to litigation. He left law school with training in the courtroom and a sense for the business dimensions of legal practice.
His early career put him in firm-side practice. By 2002 he was practicing as a lawyer at Girards Law Office. He spent years developing courtroom experience and learning how to manage complex case files. In 2013 he opened the Law Office of J. Michael Ramey, P.C., a firm that carries his name and serves clients across state lines.
Ramey is licensed to practice in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. He maintains memberships in several trial bar organizations, including the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice. Those affiliations reflect an ongoing engagement with litigation practice and trial procedure. He attends association events and stays current with developments in evidentiary and trial practice.
The core of his work is civil litigation. He handles personal injury matters and other civil claims that advance through pretrial motion practice to jury trials. He has experience managing discovery, preparing cases for trial and presenting evidence before juries. Clients have turned to him for contested matters where courtroom experience matters.
Ramey’s dual degree often shows in how he runs his practice. He balances case strategy with the administrative demands of running a small firm. That includes supervising case budgets, coordinating outside experts and managing client expectations through each phase of a dispute. He oversees file development while remaining involved in courtroom preparation and advocacy.
He practices across three state jurisdictions and represents clients in state trial courts. His firm handles the litigation pipeline from intake through verdict or settlement. He combines litigation work with the operational duties of firm leadership.
He currently leads the Law Office of J. Michael Ramey, P.C., where he continues to litigate civil disputes, try cases and advise clients on litigation strategy across Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
