About Jadrian Michael
Jadrian Michael Coppieters built his legal foundation at Western Washington University before moving to Georgetown University Law Center for graduate study. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and later completed both a J.D. and an LL.M. in Tax at Georgetown. The extra year of specialized study gave him a formal grounding in tax law and the technical rules that govern federal tax practice.
He began his post-graduate career in private practice. In 2018 he joined Reed Smith LLP as an associate. That role exposed him to the workflow and demands of a large, national firm. He handled assignments typical for litigation and transactional teams, and he continued to build subject-matter knowledge tied to tax and business matters.
In 2021 he moved to Scarff Law Office, PLLC as an associate. The change brought him into a smaller firm setting where case ownership and client contact tend to increase. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his research and careful in written work. He has kept active memberships in professional organizations and maintains bar registration across state lines.
Coppieters is admitted to practice in Washington and New York. He has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association since 2016 and continues that membership. Licensure in two jurisdictions gives him the flexibility to handle matters that span state borders and to advise clients on multi-jurisdictional tax issues when they arise.
His LL.M. in Tax shapes the contours of his practice. That formal training informs how he approaches statutory interpretation, administrative guidance and transactional tax planning. He frequently works on matters that require a technical reading of tax rules, drafting written opinions, and supporting tax-related positions in negotiations or filings.
Outside of firm work he has stayed connected to professional networks and the continuing education that tax practice demands. He has translated academic training into practical legal work through roles at both large and smaller firms. He is based at Scarff Law Office, PLLC, where his current practice centers on tax-related matters and related business law issues.
