About Jacob
Jacob Rigney built a legal career that moves between public service and private practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Franklin College in 2000, where he studied broadcast journalism and rhetoric. He went on to receive a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2002.
Early in his career Rigney worked in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Records show roles there in 2004 and again in 2010, where he served as a deputy prosecutor. Those years in the prosecutor’s office gave him courtroom experience and regular exposure to case preparation, witness interviews and trial work.
After years in public service he shifted to private practice. In 2015 he opened The Law Office of Jacob Rigney as a solo practitioner. Two years later he was a founding partner of Rigney Law, the firm he established in 2017. The move from a one-person office to a firm reflects a transition from individual practice toward running and managing a law office.
Rigney’s background bridges courtroom roles and the day-to-day demands of running a practice. Prosecutorial work familiarized him with criminal procedure and trial calendars. The solo practice years required handling client intake, case strategy and the administrative tasks that keep a small firm functioning. Those combined experiences shape how he approaches matters today.
He is admitted to practice in Indiana and maintains professional memberships. He has remained active in the state legal community while balancing private caseloads and firm responsibilities. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in litigation settings and attentive to procedural detail.
Clients who work with Rigney encounter a lawyer who has seen cases from both sides of the aisle. He has moved from courtroom prosecution to managing client matters in private practice, and he continues to practice in Indiana courts. He presently leads Rigney Law LLC, where he handles matters on behalf of individuals and businesses in the state.
He currently practices at Rigney Law LLC, focusing on serving clients with legal matters under Indiana law.
