About Jacob J.
Jacob J. Delahoussaye entered the legal world after completing a concentrated course of study at Louisiana schools. He holds a J.D./D.C.L. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, awarded in 2022, and earned a B.A. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2019. Those credentials place him among a generation of lawyers trained both in national legal doctrine and Louisiana’s civil law tradition.
At the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Delahoussaye completed the combined program that pairs the Juris Doctor with a Doctor of Civil Law. That pair of degrees reflects the dual legal culture that shapes practice in Louisiana — common law concepts alongside a civil code heritage. He finished law school in 2022 and moved into private practice shortly thereafter.
His professional path led to Anderson Blanda & Saltzman, where he serves as a lawyer. At the firm he works on matters arising under Louisiana law and contributes to the firm’s caseload. Colleagues describe him as methodical in drafting and attentive in client meetings. He brings recent academic training to bear on the practical questions that clients raise.
Delahoussaye maintains membership in the Louisiana Bar Association. That association keeps him connected to continuing legal education and the professional networks statewide. It also provides a forum for staying current on developments in Louisiana statutes and appellate decisions, which are often critical for day-to-day practice.
As a relatively recent law graduate, he combines classroom study and early-career practice. He has worked on client matters at the firm level and participates in the routine demands of litigation preparation and transactional work. His education in both civil and common law principles informs how he analyses statutory texts, drafts legal memoranda, and advises clients.
He is currently a practicing attorney at Anderson Blanda & Saltzman in Louisiana. His present work centers on representing clients in matters governed by Louisiana law and supporting the firm’s litigation and advisory efforts.
