About Jacob

Jacob Denson entered the legal profession after completing a law degree at William H. Bowen School of Law in 2020. He arrived there after studying mathematics, with a minor in statistics, at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Those academic choices left him with an analytical bent and an attention to numbers that he has carried into practice.

He began gaining hands-on legal experience while still in law school. In 2018 he worked as a law clerk at Rainwater, Holt & Sexton, P.A. The following year he took a clerkship with the Pulaski County Public Defender’s Office, where he continued after graduating. Those early positions exposed him to courtroom procedure, client interviews and the practical tasks of case preparation.

In 2020 Denson transitioned from clerk to lawyer at the Pulaski County Public Defender’s Office. In that role he represented clients in criminal matters handled by the office. The work required frequent interactions with prosecutors, attendance at hearings and preparation of defenses under tight timelines. He stayed connected to the public defender role during the start of his career, developing experience in the mechanics of criminal practice.

Alongside his public work, Denson maintained ties to the Arkansas legal community. He holds membership in the State Bar of Arkansas and is licensed to practice in that jurisdiction. The combination of a mathematics background and years spent handling criminal cases has shaped how he approaches evidence, from routine traffic stops to more complex drug investigations.

Denson now practices through Denson DWI & Drug Defense, PLLC. The firm name signals the areas that occupy most of his time. He represents individuals charged with DWI and drug offenses and handles related hearings and pretrial matters. His work is concentrated on criminal defense in Arkansas courts, where he applies the procedural experience gained at the public defender’s office and the analytical habits from his undergraduate training.

He currently focuses on DWI and drug defense at Denson DWI & Drug Defense, PLLC.
