About Jacob A.
Jacob A. Perrone earned his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Central Florida in 2005. He finished law school as the economy was still recovering from the late-2000s downturn. The timing shaped the early years of his practice, offering lessons in handling matters under pressure and adapting to shifting client needs.
He took on a leadership role at Perrone Law, P.C. in 2009, listed as president. That early move into management meant juggling casework with running a small firm. Colleagues and clients describe him as someone who keeps paperwork and deadlines in order and who expects clear communication from everyone involved. He has worked primarily out of his firm’s office and has managed administrative duties alongside client representation.
Perrone is admitted to practice in Michigan and in federal courts within the state. His jurisdictions include the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan. He regularly appears or prepares filings in those venues. That court-level experience gives him familiarity with federal procedure and bankruptcy practice trends specific to the Western District, and it informs how he prepares cases at the state level.
His approach is straightforward. He tends to prioritize deadlines, careful drafting, and practical solutions that clients can understand. He has dealt with both courtroom work and the paperwork side of litigation and insolvency matters. At the firm he leads, he balances the demands of client service with the administrative responsibilities that come with running a practice. He mentors younger lawyers and staff through day-to-day supervision rather than formal academic programs.
Outside of filings and court appearances, Perrone has focused on building a practice that serves clients in the Western Michigan area. He keeps a hands-on role in case management and continues to represent clients before state and federal tribunals. He is currently practicing as president of Perrone Law, P.C., handling matters in Michigan state courts and in the federal and bankruptcy courts of the Western District of Michigan.
