About Jack
Jack Taylor took an unconventional path to the practice of law. He began life as an engineer, earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute in 1987, an MBA from the University of Vermont in 1997, and a Master Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University’s Mount Vernon campus in 1998. He later returned to technical study with an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in 2001, then shifted gears again to earn a J.D. from Florida A&M University College of Law in 2015.
That blend of technical and business training informed his early career. In 1991 he worked as a project manager and engineer at International Business Machines Corporation. He left engineering practice for financial services in 2002, serving as a financial consultant and estate planning advisor under the designation Jack Taylor, ChFC. Those years in finance added estate and risk management experience to an already diverse resume.
After completing law school, Taylor moved into private legal practice. In 2016 he became president of Jack Taylor Law, P.A., a role that placed him squarely in matters that draw on both his legal and financial background. Since then he has been active in the Florida Bar, holding memberships on the Real Property, Probate & Trust Committee and on Construction Law and Construction Litigation subcommittees beginning in 2016. He also joined committees of the Orange County Bar Association covering construction and business law and has been a member of the Florida Justice Association.
In 2020 Taylor joined Bogin, Munns & Munns as an associate. His practice has included matters arising from construction disputes, real property disagreements and probate administration. He carries professional licenses outside the bar: he is a Florida Real Estate Sales Associate under the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and he holds a Florida life insurance agent license (0215) issued by the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Colleagues describe him as someone who brings an engineer’s attention to detail and a financial adviser’s sense of planning to his work in the courtroom and at the negotiation table. He is comfortable in technical and contractual disputes and in the administration of estates, and his committee work reflects a steady involvement in the professional issues that shape construction and probate practice in Florida. He represents clients in construction and real estate disputes, and handles probate and estate planning matters.
