Jack E. Stephens is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1988 and holds bar number 133330. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Stephens is the principal owner of Stephens Law Group, a law firm located at 12526 High Bluff Dr., Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92130. He has been practicing law in San Diego since 1990, assisting clients with estate planning, tax law, and elder law matters.
Mr. Stephens earned his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. Prior to his legal education, he completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. During his time at Baylor Law School, he was a member of the Law Review.
Mr. Stephens focuses his practice on estate planning, tax law, and elder law. He assists clients with creating trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents to protect their assets and ensure their wishes are honored. His work encompasses all stages of estate planning, including initial consultations, document preparation, and trust administration. He also provides guidance on tax implications related to estate planning and offers advice on elder law issues, such as guardianship and conservatorship.
Throughout his career, Mr. Stephens has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He has been practicing law for over 35 years, serving clients throughout the San Diego area. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate attorney at a law firm in San Diego.
Mr. Stephens is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He has been recognized with the AV Preeminent Attorney Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, representing the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. He has also been designated as a Top Lawyer by San Diego Magazine and has received consistent high ratings on Avvo.
