About Jack Patrick
Jack Patrick Hill graduated from Yale University with a B.S. in 1997 and earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2001. He completed his legal education at a time when medical malpractice litigation in Florida was evolving rapidly. Those years shaped his interest in civil litigation and patient safety.
He joined Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, PA, and has served there as a shareholder and a Florida medical malpractice lawyer since 2004. Over the past two decades he has handled cases that moved through pretrial investigation, expert discovery and jury trial. He has been involved in litigation strategy, depositions and courtroom advocacy on behalf of plaintiffs alleging medical error.
His practice centers on injuries caused by medical negligence. He represents patients and families who claim harm from surgical mistakes, misdiagnoses, birth injuries and other instances of substandard care. He pursues damages for economic loss, pain and suffering, and related harms. He works with medical experts to analyze records, identify departures from accepted practice and present claims in state court.
Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney who spends considerable time preparing cases for trial. He conducts factual investigations, interviews treating providers and develops demonstrative evidence. Trials are a regular part of the docket; he tries cases when settlement is not achievable. The work requires coordinating experts, preparing witnesses and making opening and closing statements to juries.
He maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is listed by the National Trial Lawyers among its Top 40 Under 40 for Florida. He also holds membership in the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Justice Association. These affiliations keep him connected to developments in litigation practice and trial advocacy.
Outside the courtroom he contributes time to case evaluation and mentoring younger lawyers at his firm. He has built a practice that emphasizes meticulous record review and careful expert selection. He handles pretrial motion work and trial preparation while managing the client-facing aspects of complex personal injury matters.
He currently practices medical malpractice law at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, PA, representing clients in Florida.
