About Jack Duncan

Jack Duncan Hurd earned his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2018. He finished law school at a time when many young attorneys were weighing clerkships, firm jobs and solo practice. Hurd chose a path that led him back to Texas courts and clients.

After law school he entered legal practice in Texas. Over the years he has maintained an office under the name J.D. Hurd Law, P.L.L.C. That practice name appears across filings and public records tied to his work in the state. He operates within the Texas legal system and handles matters that arise under state law.

Hurd’s legal training at Baylor emphasized practical skills and courtroom procedure. He brought those skills into practice. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing pleadings and attentive to procedural deadlines. He has handled client intake, drafted motions and attended hearings in Texas trial courts.

His work is grounded in routine but essential aspects of running a small law office. He manages client relationships, prepares case documents, and coordinates filings. Those tasks take up much of his day-to-day practice. He has also navigated court rules and local procedures across multiple Texas counties.

Clients who come to his office find an attorney familiar with state practice. He represents clients in matters governed by Texas law and appears in state courts when necessary. Hurd balances litigation-related responsibilities with the administrative demands of a small practice.

Outside the courtroom he maintains connections with peers and keeps current on developments in Texas statutes and court decisions. He draws on those updates when advising clients and making procedural decisions. He continues to operate J.D. Hurd Law, P.L.L.C., where he represents clients in matters arising under Texas law.
