About Jack A.

Jack A. Kaleita graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1979 and earned his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1983. His legal education combined a regional undergraduate background with a law school known for trial skills. He entered the Florida bar after law school and has remained active in the state’s legal community ever since.

He is admitted to practice in Florida and before federal courts that serve the state. Those admissions include the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Over the years he has maintained the credentials necessary to file and argue cases across those forums.

Kaleita belongs to several professional associations that reflect his interests and practice. He is a current member of the Florida Bar, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships place him among lawyers who regularly handle criminal matters at both the state and federal levels.

Colleagues and court records show a practice oriented toward criminal defense. He represents clients facing a range of state and federal charges. His work requires courtroom appearances, plea negotiations and pretrial advocacy. He also handles motion practice in district court and appellate filings when cases advance beyond trial.

Clients and other attorneys describe him as experienced in handling the procedural demands of both state and federal systems. He navigates evidentiary issues, sentencing considerations and post-conviction motions. He has experience working with prosecutors and magistrates in Florida’s trial courts and in federal court in the Middle District of Florida.

Outside the courtroom he participates in the organized bar. His memberships in local and statewide criminal defense groups suggest an ongoing engagement with developments in criminal law, trial tactics and ethical practice. He attends meetings and educational events that these associations run to keep current on case law and sentencing practice.

Today he continues to practice in Florida and remains admitted to the federal courts noted above. His current practice centers on criminal defense matters in state and federal court.
