About Jabari-Jason
Jabari-Jason Tyson-Phipps trained across three continents before entering practice. He earned his J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2008, after studying International Business Law and Trade at the National University of Singapore in 2007. His undergraduate years were spent at Brown University, where he completed a B.A. in 2001 with concentrations spanning business, political science, international relations and archaeology.
Those academic choices set a broad foundation. During and after law school he pursued additional training that intersects courtroom work and investigative technique. He holds an ADR Mediation Certificate from American University Washington College of Law. He also completed the Criminal Investigator Training Program and Advanced Interviewing for Law Enforcement Investigators at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers. The mix of mediation and investigative coursework informs how he approaches complex factual records and contested testimony.
He is admitted to practice in New York and has appearances in federal courts that serve the region. His federal admissions include the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. That range means he has moved between trial-level proceedings and appellate filings, representing clients in different federal settings while also maintaining a state-level practice in New York.
Outside the courtroom he remains active in professional and alumni circles. He is a member of the New York City Bar Association and holds positions with Brown University alumni groups, including the Association of Class Leaders and boards connected to the Brown Club of New York and the Brown Alumni Entrepreneurship Group. Those roles reflect ongoing ties to his undergraduate community and to networks that bridge law, business and education.
Tyson-Phipps practices at Pierce and Kwok LLP. His practice draws on mediation training and investigative experience to address disputes and contested matters in both state and federal courts. He handles litigation and dispute resolution in New York state and federal courts.
