About J. Chris
J. Chris Villarreal earned his law degree from Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law. He studied the core subjects that shape litigation and client advocacy. His time in law school established a foundation for courtroom procedure and case analysis.
After law school, Villarreal became licensed to practice in Texas. He developed a practice centered on family law matters and handled a range of cases in state courts. Over time he built experience representing people in contested hearings and negotiated settlements outside the courtroom as well.
Villarreal’s work covers routine and complex family law issues. He regularly addresses divorce, child custody and visitation, child support calculations, and division of assets. He also handles prenuptial agreements, enforcement and modification of orders, and protective orders when they arise. In practice he favors clear explanations and practical options. Clients receive straightforward assessments of risks and timelines so they can make informed decisions.
Colleagues describe him as steady in court and deliberate in preparation. He combines case law research with attention to procedural detail. That combination helps in hearings and in drafting pleadings that anticipate opposing arguments.
At Modern Family Law, Villarreal handles matters from initial filings to final orders. He works with clients across Texas courts and coordinates with mediators, forensic accountants and other specialists when cases require additional expertise. He prepares clients for hearings, negotiates settlements, and litigates when resolution cannot be reached through agreement.
Outside the courtroom he spends time staying current on family law developments that affect practice in Texas. That includes changes in statutes and adjustments in procedural rules that can affect case strategy. He also focuses on practical tools that help clients move through transitions associated with family law proceedings.
