About J Armando
J Armando Edmiston built a legal career that bridges two different interests: science and the law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of South Florida in 1996 and a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 2004. Those two degrees frame much of his work. One speaks to evidence and technical detail. The other provided the tools to argue cases in court.
He began his legal training in local law offices. In 2004 he interned at Asnis, Srebnick, Kaufman and the following year worked as a legal intern at Boose, Casey, Ciklin, et al. Those early placements offered exposure to litigation and client work. In 2007 he joined Youngblood Law Office as an associate lawyer. That role put him on the front line of case preparation and courtroom procedure.
Edmiston moved into public defense in 2008, serving as an assistant public defender in the 13th Judicial Circuit at the office of Julianne Holt. As a public defender he represented clients who could not afford private counsel and handled matters that required quick decision-making under pressure. The post provided steady courtroom experience and an intensive immersion in criminal practice.
A year later he shifted to private practice. In 2009 he established Armando Personal Injury Law as owner and partner. The firm emphasizes individual client representation and case management from intake through resolution. Running a small firm has meant juggling trial work, client consultations, negotiation and administrative responsibilities.
Professional involvement runs alongside his practice. He has been active in the Hillsborough County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has served as its vice president since 2012. He has also held membership in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2008. Those roles have kept him connected to developments in criminal law and to a local community of defense attorneys.
His science background continues to be relevant. A biology degree aids in reviewing medical records and understanding injury mechanisms, which can matter in both personal injury litigation and certain criminal matters that involve forensic or medical evidence.
Edmiston is licensed to practice in Florida and maintains his office under the Armando Personal Injury Law name. He continues to work in Florida courts and to serve clients in personal injury cases while remaining active in criminal defense circles.
He currently practices at Armando Personal Injury Law, handling personal injury matters in Florida.
