About Isaac J.
Isaac J. Mass earned his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2008, where he concentrated in estate planning and real estate. He holds licenses to practice in both Massachusetts and Vermont. His legal education set a clear line to the areas of property and post-conviction appellate work he would pursue after graduation.
He opened the Law Office of Isaac J. Mass in 2011 and has practiced there since. The office began as a small, local practice and grew into a point of contact for clients seeking help with wills, trusts, real estate transactions and related disputes. Early in his practice he also became involved in public defense work, taking on a role as a post-conviction appellate lawyer through the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
Alongside his private practice, Mass has maintained steady involvement in professional associations. He has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Property Section Council since 2011. He also holds memberships in the Vermont Bar Association, the Franklin County Bar Association and the Real Estate Bar Association. Within Franklin County he serves as a bar advocate, a role that has him appearing in court and representing clients as part of the county’s advocate program.
Mass’s day-to-day work blends transactional and appellate elements. On the transactional side he drafts and reviews estate planning documents, prepares deeds and handles real estate closings. He advises clients on title issues and negotiates purchases and sales. On the appellate side he prepares post-conviction filings and represents clients in appellate proceedings through the public counsel services program. The combination of these responsibilities means he spends time both at the negotiating table and in the courthouse.
Colleagues describe his approach as practical and detail-oriented. He has continued to build experience in two neighboring jurisdictions, advising individuals and small businesses that cross state lines. He has stayed active in bar work, and that involvement informs how he handles procedural and substantive issues for his clients.
He maintains an office under the name Law Office of Isaac J. Mass and continues to accept matters in Massachusetts and Vermont. He currently concentrates his practice on estate planning, real estate matters and post-conviction appellate representation.
