About Irvin

Irvin Rakhlin took a conventional path into the law. He left Amherst College in 2000 with a B.A. in political science and Spanish, then earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2007. Those years shaped his approach to legal work. They mixed liberal arts inquiry with professional training and introduced him to practice settings that would define his early career.

After law school Rakhlin entered private practice. In 2007 he joined Cunha and Holcomb as an associate. The role offered regular client contact and courtroom exposure. It also gave him a view of firm operations and the day-to-day rhythms of litigation and client counseling. Colleagues from that period recall a lawyer who learned quickly and handled casework with steady attention.

Rakhlin is licensed to practice in Massachusetts. That jurisdiction has been the geographic center of his professional life. His work has involved appearances before state tribunals and routine filings in the civil dockets that make up much of day-to-day practice in the Commonwealth. He has navigated procedural deadlines and discovery demands that often determine the course of a case.

His educational background in political science and Spanish is more than a line on a résumé. The political science training informs legal analysis and case strategy. Knowledge of Spanish supports communication in diverse communities around Massachusetts. Those elements together shape how he evaluates issues and interacts with clients and opposing counsel.

Peers describe Rakhlin as methodical. He approaches files in stages: identify the facts, map applicable law, then test options. That process is evident in how he handled matters at Cunha and Holcomb and in subsequent work across the state. He has balanced research and courtroom preparation, and he values clarity in written work and oral argument.

Today Rakhlin practices law in Massachusetts. He continues to handle matters that arise in the Commonwealth’s courts and administrative forums, focusing his practice on routine civil litigation and related procedural work in Massachusetts courts.
