About Irene F.
Irene F. Bahr built a legal career that moves between government service, bar leadership and private practice. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois–Chicago, earning a B.A. in 1971. She went on to receive her J.D. from DePaul College of Law in 1977.
Her first notable post after law school was as Chief Counsel to the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, a role she began in 1977. That early exposure to administrative law and regulatory work framed much of her subsequent career. A decade later she entered private practice. Since 1987 she has practiced under the firm that is now known as Bahr Anderson Law Group, LLC.
Bahr has been active in legal and civic organizations throughout her career. She served as President of the Illinois State Bar Association from 2006 to 2007. She has been a member of the board of directors of the Illinois State Bar Association Mutual Insurance Company since 2003 and chaired that board from 2010 to 2011. At the county level she led the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers as president from 1990 to 1992 and remains connected to that group.
Her professional memberships reflect her regulatory background. She holds memberships in the National Association of Licensing and Compliance Professionals and the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators. She also serves as president of the Child Friendly Courts Foundation and maintains ties to regional legal groups in DuPage County. Those roles underscore a long-running interest in administrative processes, licensing and court-related projects.
Licensed to practice in Illinois, Bahr draws on decades of experience in both public and private settings. Her work has involved licensing and compliance matters tied to state regulation, administrative hearings and related counseling for clients navigating regulatory systems. She continues to practice through Bahr Anderson Law Group, LLC, where she concentrates on regulatory, licensing and administrative matters in Illinois.
