About Ira Robert

Ira Robert Baker began his study of law after completing a political science degree at Florida International University. He earned a B.A. in Political Science in 1992 and went on to the University of Miami School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1996. Those academic years set the stage for a practice that would center on courtroom work and matters that touch everyday drivers and people charged with crimes.

Early in his career Baker established himself as a trial lawyer. In 1996 he began practicing at The Baker Law Offices. He has spent the bulk of his professional life handling contested hearings, motions and trials. Chambers, arraignments and bench conferences became routine parts of his schedule. Over time he has handled cases in municipal and county courts as well as federal matters under the jurisdiction of the Eleventh Circuit, where he is authorized to appear.

Membership in professional organizations has been a consistent part of Baker’s professional life. He has been a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 1996. That long-standing membership reflects steady engagement with peers who work on criminal defense issues across the state. Participation in the association has provided regular exposure to developments in case law, trial techniques and changes in Florida criminal procedure.

Baker’s practice blends criminal defense and ticket-related representation. He represents people facing misdemeanor and felony charges and regularly takes on traffic and citation disputes. The office often fields last-minute calls about court dates and plea options. He has built a practice that responds to urgent calendar needs as well as longer-term trial preparations.

Colleagues and clients describe Baker as a lawyer who prefers plainspoken advocacy in court. He tends to keep filings direct and arguments clear. That approach extends to courtroom demeanor. He pursues evidence-based strategy and tends to favor motions and factual development over theatrical presentations.

Today Baker continues to operate from The Baker Law Offices, where he handles criminal defense matters and traffic-ticket cases. He maintains active ties to professional groups and appears regularly in Florida courts and in proceedings within the Eleventh Circuit.
