About Idan

Idan Netser pursued a path that crosses two legal systems. He earned both an LL.B. and a B.A. in Economics from Tel-Aviv University in 2006 and completed an LL.M. in International Taxation at the University of Michigan Law School in 2008. Those credentials set the stage for a career that bridges U.S. and Israeli tax practice.

After completing his studies, Netser joined Fenwick & West LLP, where he worked on matters that drew on his international tax training. His time at the firm involved advising on tax questions tied to cross-border transactions and corporate arrangements. He handled both planning and compliance issues, often where U.S. and foreign tax regimes intersected.

Netser’s academic background in economics and law informs a pragmatic approach to tax problems. He has worked on structures that require careful reading of treaties, domestic tax provisions, and regulatory guidance. Clients have sought his input on the tax implications of inbound and outbound investments, and on the tax dimensions of corporate reorganizations and financings.

The combination of Israeli and American legal education gives Netser a particular vantage point. He understands how different legal traditions can affect tax outcomes. That perspective is useful for multinational companies and for individuals with ties to more than one jurisdiction. He is admitted to practice in California and conducts his work under that license.

Colleagues describe him as someone who focuses on clarity in complex matters. He aims to translate technical tax rules into actionable options. That means breaking problems into concrete steps and weighing practical consequences alongside legal analysis. Netser’s experience includes drafting transactional documents, preparing tax memoranda, and advising on reporting and compliance priorities.

Outside strictly transactional work, Netser has been involved in problem-solving for tax-sensitive operational choices. He pays attention to the administrative side of tax practice: filings, timelines, and the interplay between tax and other regulatory requirements. The result is often a balanced assessment that looks at risk, cost, and timing.

He practices in California and continues to work on international tax and cross-border corporate tax matters.
