About Ian
Ian Hasegawa took a circuitous route into law. He began in international studies and business, earning a B.S. in International Relations and Spanish at Brigham Young University and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management. He later completed a J.D. at Phoenix School of Law and moved into practice in Arizona.
Early in his career Hasegawa worked inside the corporate world. He spent time in the international division of Charles Schwab & Co., focusing on operations that served Latin America and Spain. He also worked as a broker at Charles Schwab, gaining front-line experience in financial services. That combination of cross-border business exposure and market-facing roles informed his later legal work.
Hasegawa then shifted into advisory roles for global logistics. As an international business consultant for UPS, he advised on matters that required an understanding of trade, customs, and cross-border commercial relationships. The consulting work gave him practical insight into how companies manage risk and structure transactions across jurisdictions.
His move into law practice brought him to Lodmell & Lodmell, where he served as an asset protection attorney. There he handled matters related to shielding assets from creditor claims and structuring client holdings to address liability concerns. The role drew on both his transactional background and the international outlook he developed earlier in his career.
Today Hasegawa practices at HP Law in Arizona. He is admitted to practice in Arizona and combines his corporate and consulting background with his legal training. Clients see a lawyer who understands the mechanics of finance and logistics as well as the statutory and regulatory framework that affects asset protection and cross-border business.
He speaks Spanish and his earlier work in Latin America and Spain continues to inform his approach to international business matters. His practice blends transactional advising, asset protection planning, and practical problem solving tailored to individuals and businesses that operate across borders. He currently practices at HP Law, where he handles asset protection and international business matters.
