About Ian B.
Ian B. Miller earned a B.S. in political science from Florida State University in 2004 and a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 2007. He came through law school at a time when trial practice and courtroom advocacy were central to the culture at both schools. That training shaped the practical approach he brought to his work after graduation.
Miller has practiced in Florida courts since completing his legal studies. In 2020 he launched Miller Trial Law and set up a practice aimed at handling contested matters at trial. The firm’s formation marked a move to a lean, trial-oriented practice model. Miller built the practice around courtroom work and case preparation that anticipates jury trials rather than avoiding them.
He maintains active ties to local and statewide legal groups. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Florida Justice Association, the Palm Beach County Justice Association, the Broward County Trial Lawyers Association, the Broward Bar Association and the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. He also served as a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association from 2019 to 2020. Since 2020 he has held a board position in the Palm Beach County Alumni Chapter of Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. Those affiliations keep him connected to colleagues who focus on civil litigation and trial practice.
Miller’s work centers on litigation and trial advocacy in Florida. He has emphasized courtroom readiness in the firm’s intake and case management. That orientation affects how the firm prepares discovery, selects experts and develops themes for trial. Clients and opposing counsel see a practitioner who plans for evidentiary fights and jury presentation from an early stage.
Outside the courtroom he participates in bar association programming and alumni activities. The board role at his law school’s alumni chapter has involved outreach and events in Palm Beach County. He also takes part in continuing legal education opportunities offered by the trial and county bar groups with which he is affiliated.
Miller practices in Florida and runs Miller Trial Law, where he handles civil litigation and trial work in state courts across the region.
