About Hollie Del
Hollie Del Vecchio blends law, planning and teaching into a career that crosses public service and private practice. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Planning and Environmental Policy from Western Washington University in 1997, followed by a Ph.D. in Transportation Policy and Urban Planning from Portland State University in 2011 and a Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark College in 2011. That combination of degrees frames much of her work.
Her early career was in academia and planning. In 2001 she joined Cal Poly Pomona as a professor of urban and regional planning. She later returned to Portland State University as an adjunct professor of urban studies and planning in 2006. Those roles kept her in contact with local governments and regional policy debates.
Del Vecchio moved into legal practice in the late 2000s. She worked as an associate attorney at Doney Crowley Payne Bloomquist PC beginning in 2010. In 2013 she founded Adaptive Law Office PS and has operated the practice since then. Her record also includes a stint in local land-use governance: in 2015 she served as District 3 Commissioner on the Skagit County Planning Commission.
Her professional affiliations reflect an interest in elder law and civil justice. She holds memberships in ElderCounsel and Elder Law Answers, both listed from 2016 to the present. She is also a member of the Washington State Association for Justice, a membership that dates to 2015. These associations inform the kinds of matters she accepts and the networks she draws on for specialized questions.
Del Vecchio’s background in planning and transportation policy adds an uncommon dimension to her legal practice. She has experience teaching urban studies, and she has worked on planning commissions, so she understands regulatory processes and local government decision-making. That experience is useful in estate and elder-law matters that touch on property, housing and long-term care planning.
Clients encounter a lawyer who has moved between classrooms, county boards and the office. She has run a small firm for more than a decade and continues to balance casework with public-service roles. She practices law in Sedro-Woolley and maintains memberships in national and state organizations that support elder-law and civil justice work. She currently practices at Adaptive Law Office PS in Sedro-Woolley, concentrating on elder law, estate planning and related matters.
