About Heeyeon
Heeyeon Kim built a foundation in business before turning to law. She earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Korea University in 1995 after beginning her studies there in 1992. The undergraduate years gave her an early grounding in commerce and organization that would later inform her legal training.
She pursued legal education in South Korea's national system and completed the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 2005. Her record notes legal training beginning in 2003 and completion in 2005; the institute is listed in her credentials as the equivalent of a U.S. JD. That period placed her in the South Korean legal training track and prepared her for practice in that jurisdiction.
Kim expanded her legal education in the United States at The University of Texas School of Law, completing studies there in 2011. The move to Texas law school added a U.S. dimension to her background and broadened the range of systems she knows professionally. She combines formal training from two different legal cultures.
Her professional practice spans both South Korea and Texas. She is admitted to practice in those jurisdictions and has worked through KORUS LEGAL PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION. At that firm she has handled matters that touch on the laws of both countries, drawing on her education and cross-border experience. Colleagues describe her work as steady and pragmatic; clients have engaged her for legal questions that require understanding of Korean and Texas rules.
Kim's approach to cases is methodical. She tends to break complex problems into discreet issues and then address each under the relevant law. She keeps language direct in client communications and prefers to set clear expectations about timing and cost. Outside the office she has maintained ties to legal communities in both places, continuing professional development that reflects the dual nature of her practice.
She maintains an active practice at KORUS LEGAL PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION and currently focuses on legal matters involving South Korean and Texas law.
