About Hector E.
Hector E. Quiroga earned his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2007. He entered the legal profession immediately after law school and spent his first post-graduate year clerking at a federal district court. The early exposure to federal practice and courtroom procedure shaped the way he approaches cases today.
After his clerkship, Quiroga moved into private practice and became a partner at Quiroga Law Office, PLLC in 2009. He has remained with that firm since then. The early transition from clerk to partner placed him in the role of handling both courtroom work and firm management at a relatively young stage of his career.
He added an academic dimension to his résumé in 2015 when he joined Gonzaga University School of Law as a Professor of Law. In that role he has taught and worked with law students while maintaining his practice. The combination of teaching and practice has kept him engaged in both the theoretical and practical sides of the law.
Quiroga holds a certification as a Spanish translator for state courts, a credential that informs part of his practice and his community work. He has been active in several professional organizations for more than a decade. Memberships include the Washington State Bar Association and Spokane County Bar Association since 2009, the Federal Bar Association’s Federal Litigation Section and the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Eastern District of Washington since 2010, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2009. He also participates in the Washington State Association for Justice’s Diversity Committee, and he belongs to broader organizations such as the American Bar Association and the Hispanic Business and Professional Association. Outside the bar groups, he is a First Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Quiroga is admitted to practice in Washington and before the Ninth Circuit. His courtroom background, academic role, and translator certification give him a varied set of tools for handling multi-jurisdictional and multilingual matters. Colleagues and students have noticed his steady presence in both the Spokane legal community and at Gonzaga.
He maintains his practice at Quiroga Law Office, PLLC and concentrates his work on federal litigation, bankruptcy matters, and immigration cases.
