Heather earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Florida in 1999. Before that, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business and Organizational Communications from the University of Akron in 1992. Her educational background laid a strong foundation for her legal career. Since 2005, she has held various positions in the legal field, including staff lawyer and, more recently, a lawyer and mediator since 2012. Her commitment to family law began early, as she volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in 2002, where she advocated for children within the legal system. Most of Heather’s work involves complex family law cases, particularly divorce proceedings and custody disputes.
She is a certified family law specialist, having received training in collaborative law and specialized family and juvenile law mediation. This training equips her to handle the details of family law effectively, ensuring her clients receive the best possible representation. Cases she handles often require negotiations, mediation sessions, and, when necessary, litigation to protect her clients' interests. In addition to her legal practice, Heather is an active member of several legal associations, including the Akron Bar Association and the Ohio State Bar Association. She also participates in the Cleveland Bar Association, specifically within the Family Law Section. Community service is a significant aspect of Heather's life. Since 2003, she has served on the Board of Trustees, where she focuses on improving the legal system for families.
