About Harold M.
Harold M. Goldner built a legal career that moves between the courtroom and the bar association meeting room. He is a litigator who has spent decades handling employment and labor matters in Pennsylvania and federal courts. His career blends solo practice, firm roles and sustained involvement in professional organizations.
He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania in 1973, earning a B.A. in English and Political Science. He returned to school for law, taking his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1977. Later, in 1994, he earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University, sharpening courtroom skills that would shape his practice.
Goldner began practicing in the years after law school and launched his own firm, the Law Offices of Harold M. Goldner, in 1998. He later served of counsel at Kraut Harris, P.C. beginning in 2010. In 2022 he joined Friedman Schuman as a principal, a role he holds today. Those shifts reflect a practice that has alternated between the autonomy of solo practice and the collaborative environment of established firms.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Over the years his docket has focused on employment disputes, labor issues and related civil litigation. His trial training and appellate admissions have allowed him to handle matters at several levels of the federal system.
Goldner has been active in bar work for much of his career. He served as chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and has been on its Section Council since 2007. He has been a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association since 1980 and maintained an American Bar Association membership from 1980 until 2018. In Montgomery County, where he has been a member of the Montgomery Bar Association since 2005, he served on the board, chaired the Employment & Labor Committee and previously chaired the Law Reporter Committee. He also led the National Employment Lawyers Association’s Eastern Pennsylvania affiliate as president from 2005 to 2009 and has been involved in the Solo & Small Firm Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, including service as chair.
Colleagues describe him as an experienced courtroom lawyer who pairs trial training with long-term involvement in the profession’s institutional life. He currently practices at Friedman Schuman and handles labor and employment litigation, counseling and appellate matters.
