About Hannah

Hannah Thorssin-Bahri took a steady path into Alaska’s legal community. She studied at Fordham University before beginning a career that has moved between the bench, government service and private practice. Those early years shaped how she approaches the law now.

Her first post on the bench came in 2007. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Beverly Cutler in the Alaska Court System. That role put her inside the appellate and trial paperwork of the state and gave her direct exposure to judicial decision-making. Colleagues from that period recall a methodical approach to legal research and an attention to the practical implications of court rulings.

In 2008 she joined the State of Alaska as a lawyer. The position required adapting to the pace and priorities of public-sector work. She handled assignments for the state that involved statutory interpretation, administrative processes and litigation support. Working for the state expanded her view of how law and public policy intersect in Alaska.

A decade later she opened her own firm. In 2018 Thorssin Law, L.L.C. began operating out of Alaska, offering an alternative to larger, out-of-state practices. At the firm she manages client matters directly and oversees the work that moves through the office. The shift to private practice brought new responsibilities: running a business, developing client relationships and balancing a docket across the calendar year.

Throughout her career she has stayed geographically rooted in Alaska. That continuity has given her familiarity with the state’s courts, agencies and legal culture. She maintains connections from her clerkship and state service that inform how cases are handled. Her current work continues at Thorssin Law, L.L.C., where she serves clients in Alaska through the firm’s legal practice.
