Abdel-Sayed earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2001. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Zoology from Michigan State University in 1998. His educational background provides a solid foundation for his work in complex intellectual property matters. He is admitted to practice law in multiple states, including California, Illinois, Michigan, and Arizona. Furthermore, he is authorized to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which shows his expertise in patent law. In August 2022, Rutan & Tucker LLP expanded its footprint by opening an office in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This marked the firm's first location in the state, and Mr. Abdel-Sayed was appointed to manage this new office. His objective is to serve existing Arizona-based clients while also attracting new business in a rapidly growing market. His practice involves preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent and trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices, ensuring that clients' intellectual property rights are effectively secured. Moreover, Mr. Abdel-Sayed negotiates and drafts various agreements, including patent and technology licensing agreements, patent development agreements, and contracts related to intellectual property development for universities and military organizations.

He also conducts due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, providing critical insights that help clients navigate complex transactions. His significant experience in the automotive industry, coupled with strong connections in Detroit, allows him to offer specialized guidance to original equipment manufacturers, tier 1 suppliers, and aftermarket manufacturers. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Abdel-Sayed serves as an adjunct professor at the University of California, San Diego. He teaches courses in Intellectual Property Law, Patent Prosecution, and Advanced Issues in Intellectual Property Law.
