About H. Yvonne

H. Yvonne Seeley is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1982. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Seeley is the founding principal attorney at Seeley Family Law Practice, APC, a law firm located in San Mateo, California. She has been practicing law for over 40 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Ms. Seeley earned her Juris Doctor degree from San Francisco Law School in 1980. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at San Jose State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976. In 2001, she furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science in Business from Notre Dame de Namur University.

Ms. Seeley concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, divorce, arbitration, and mediation. She represents individuals and families in matters involving marital dissolution, child custody, child support, spousal support, asset division, domestic violence, and marital agreements. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.

Throughout her career, Ms. Seeley has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Mateo, the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara, and the Superior Court of California for the County of Marin. She has also appeared before private judges and in public courthouses. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked at Hersh Family Law in San Francisco, the Law Offices of John A. Guthrie in Pleasanton, and the Seeley Law Firm in San Mateo. She has been recognized on the Northern California Super Lawyer list every year since 2016 and has been selected as a Top Women Attorney in Northern California by San Francisco Magazine from 2016 to 2023.

Ms. Seeley is an active member of the San Mateo County Bar Association, serving as President of the Board of Directors in 2024 and as a Board Member from 2018 to the present. She is also a member of the San Mateo County Women Lawyers Educational Foundation, serving as President and Board Member from 2014 to the present. Additionally, she is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the Association of Family Law Specialists (AFLS), the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, and the Palo Alto Area Bar Association. She has served as Co-Chair of the Family Law Section of the Palo Alto Bar Association from 2014 to 2017. Ms. Seeley is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area effectively.
