About Guy Scott

Guy Scott DiMartino trained first as a clinician and later as a lawyer. He studied chiropractic at the National University of Health Sciences, attending in the early 1980s and earning a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1986. Years later he enrolled at Valparaiso University School of Law, beginning studies in 1996 and receiving his J.D. in 1999.

His career began in health care. He practiced as a chiropractor before turning to law. That clinical background informed his decision to enter legal practice in the late 1990s. After law school he sought admission to multiple courts and jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in both Indiana and Florida, and he holds admission to the 7th and 11th U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal.

DiMartino’s credentials include board certification. The Florida Bar has recognized him as a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. That certification reflects his courtroom work in civil litigation and his experience trying cases in state and federal forums.

Over the years he has combined his medical and legal training. The combination gives him practical insight into cases that touch on injury, treatment and causation. He has represented clients in bench and jury trials and has appeared in appellate settings. His practice has involved the procedural and evidentiary aspects of trial work as well as pretrial investigation and motion practice.

He maintains a dual professional presence. One office operates under the name Guy S. DiMartino, DC, JD, PA. He also practices under the name Guy DiMartino Law. Both entities reflect the two strands of his background—clinical care and civil litigation—and house his ongoing legal work.

Colleagues and opposing counsel see him as someone who brings practical familiarity with clinical records to the courtroom. He pays attention to medical documentation and to how it fits into litigation theory. He has handled matters at the trial level and taken appeals to the circuit courts where he is admitted.

Today he continues to practice in Florida and Indiana and to appear in the 7th and 11th Circuits when cases require it. He maintains his Board Certified status in civil trial law and runs his practice through his named offices. His current practice concentrates on civil trial litigation in state and federal courts.
