About Gregory S.

Gregory S. Hooe earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in 1981 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Richmond in 1977. He arrived at the bar of legal education at a steady pace, finishing undergraduate studies and then continuing straight into law school. Those academic years established a foundation in legal writing, trial advocacy and civil procedure that has informed his practice ever since.

His career has been anchored in active participation in the legal community. He holds memberships in the Richmond Bar Association, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Those affiliations place him among lawyers who regularly handle litigation and trial work, and they have shaped how he approaches cases and professional development. He has maintained ties to local and state groups while also engaging with national trial organizations.

Over time Hooe built a practice centered on trial work and civil litigation. He has focused on preparing cases for trial, conducting pretrial discovery, and presenting matters in court. His membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates signals sustained involvement in courtroom advocacy. The kinds of matters he takes to trial and the strategies he employs have been informed by years of courtroom experience and participation in trial-focused associations.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who favors thorough preparation. He tends to break complex factual problems into discrete legal issues and to prepare witnesses and exhibits methodically. That approach reflects traditional trial-court practice: identify the claim, organize the evidence, and present it clearly. The associations he belongs to provide continuing education and peer exchange that reinforce those skills.

Today Hooe continues to practice law and to engage with the professional groups that have marked his career. He remains active in the Richmond legal community while participating in statewide and national trial organizations. He focuses his current practice on trial litigation and civil matters.
