About Gregory Matthew
Gregory Matthew Clement is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Clement is a partner at Burkhalter Kessler Clement & George LLP, a law firm located in Irvine, California. He serves clients throughout Orange County and Southern California.
Mr. Clement earned his Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School in 1991. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Aston University in Birmingham, England, graduating in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Business Administration and French. During his time at GW Law, he was a member of The George Washington Journal of International Law and Economics and authored an article titled "The New Job-Creating Investor Visa Provision: A Legitimate Spur to Investment or a Sell-Off of U.S. Citizenship to the Highest Bidder?" published in 1990.
Mr. Clement concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate law, real estate, transactional matters, and employment law. He has represented numerous businesses and corporations, including Decton Inc., Image Options, Tierzero, and Overseas Freight, Inc. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clement has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to joining Burkhalter Kessler Clement & George LLP in 2000, he served as general counsel for Golden Eagle Express, Inc., a regional transportation company based in Pomona, California. In this role, he was responsible for all contractual and litigation matters, insurance, and risk management. He also served five years on the management committee of Golden Eagle Express.
Mr. Clement is an active member of the Business Section, the Real Estate Section, and the Labor and Employment Law Section of The State Bar of California and the Maryland State Bar Association. He is also a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Association of Transportation Law Professionals. He is fluent in French and German, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
