About Gregory D.

Gregory D. Frost earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1977 and returned to Baton Rouge for law school, receiving his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law School in 1981. Those years at LSU framed a career that has kept him close to Louisiana’s health care institutions and legal communities. The combination of a small-state legal network and a specialized professional interest helped shape his early professional choices.

He moved into hospital and health care work early. In 1986 he became Vice President for Legal and Governmental Affairs at the Louisiana Hospital Association. That role put him at the intersection of hospital administration, state regulation and legislative advocacy. It was a position that required translating policy into practical guidance for member hospitals and responding to changing rules at the state level.

In 1998 Frost taught as an adjunct professor at the College of St. Francis. The teaching stint supplemented his practice and kept him engaged in legal education outside the courthouse and boardroom. Over the years he has continued to combine practice, education and organizational service rather than following a single-track career.

Frost is a partner at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P., where he concentrates on matters arising in the health care sector. He holds a Healthcare Privacy certification from the American Health Information Management Association. That credential complements his work advising hospitals, physician groups and health care organizations on privacy and information management issues now central to modern medical practice.

Professional associations have been a constant thread. He is active in the Baton Rouge Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association. He is also involved in national organizations, including the American Bar Association’s healthcare section, the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Health Information Management Association. He has been a charter director and served as president of the Louisiana Society of Hospital Lawyers, and he participates in groups such as the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Louisiana Medical Group Management Association and the Health Care Compliance Association.

His practice combines regulatory counseling, privacy and information issues, and the business concerns of hospitals and medical groups. Colleagues and clients turn to him for help interpreting state rules, addressing HIPAA-related questions and structuring transactions that involve health care entities. He currently practices at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P., and his practice focuses on health care law, privacy, compliance and related matters.
