About Greg
Greg Wetherall trained as an accountant before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Cincinnati in 1991 and later received his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1996. The dual background in accounting and law shapes how he approaches financial issues in litigation and insolvency work.
He began his legal career in 1996 at Neel, Hooper & Kalmans. Over the next three years he moved through several small firms, working at Rustin Polk & Associates in 1997 and the Law Offices of William P. Coley in 1998. Those early roles exposed him to courtroom practice and the procedural demands of debtor-creditor disputes.
In 1999 he opened The Law Office of Greg Wetherall and has practiced as a bankruptcy lawyer since. Building a solo practice required attention to both casework and the business side of running a firm. He has represented individual debtors, small businesses, and creditors in bankruptcy-related proceedings and has handled filings, adversary proceedings, and confirmation matters.
Wetherall holds admissions in Ohio and Texas and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys in 1999 and has maintained that membership. He is also listed as a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America since 2003. Those affiliations reflect steady engagement with professional groups that focus on litigation strategy and consumer bankruptcy practice.
Colleagues describe him as someone who relies on accounting principles when evaluating a client's financial picture. He often approaches cases by breaking financial records into discrete elements and building arguments from those pieces. That method can make complex insolvency matters more accessible to judges and trustees.
Today he continues to practice under the name Greg Wetherall, Bankruptcy Lawyer. His current work centers on bankruptcy representation for individuals and small businesses, counseling clients through Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 processes as well as related litigation.
