About Greg Philip
Greg Philip Stefflre earned his A.A. in Political Science from El Camino College in 1966 and went on to receive a J.D. from Southwestern Law School in 1970. Those years framed the start of a legal career that moved between private practice and corporate leadership. He trained in Southern California during a period of significant change in both business and the courts.
His early post-law school years led quickly to partnership. By 1973 he was a partner at Kellner & Stefflre. That role placed him in the day-to-day work of a mid-1970s law practice: client counseling, litigation management, and transactional matters. Colleagues from that period recall a lawyer comfortable in both courtroom and conference-room settings.
In 1978 he formed his own firm, Greg P. Stefflre, A Law Corporation, where he served as owner, president and principal. Establishing a law corporation allowed him to steer his practice and build a client base under his own name. Over the years that followed, the office handled a range of legal needs tied to the region’s economy. The firm’s structure reflected a long-term commitment to maintaining an independent practice.
In 2001 he took on an executive business role as Chief Executive Officer of Rail Delivery Services, Inc. The move into a corporate executive chair was not a departure from law but an extension of it. His tenure at the company brought legal training into operational decisions, compliance matters and corporate governance. It also broadened his perspective on how legal counsel supports business strategy.
He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit, and in California. Those admissions mean he has the credentials to handle matters that may rise from state courts to the federal appellate level. Over a multi-decade career he has worked in both state and federal arenas, managing cases and transactions that touch on each forum’s rules and procedures.
Today he continues to practice through Greg P. Stefflre, A Law Corporation. His work combines private-practice experience and corporate experience, and he handles matters in the courts and jurisdictions where he is admitted.
