About Greg

Greg Marks combines an engineer's eye for detail with courtroom experience. He earned a B.S.C.E. from Texas A&M University, College Station in 1981 and later completed a J.D. at Southern Methodist University in 1997.

He trained initially in engineering. That background informs how he approaches evidence and expert testimony. After law school he built a practice centered on civil litigation, moving into trial work where technical understanding can matter as much as legal strategy.

Marks holds certification in Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is active in professional circles. He serves on the boards of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. He also holds membership in the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the National Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, the Dallas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the American Bar Association.

Over the course of his career he has handled contested matters that proceeded to jury trial as well as negotiated settlements in cases where the record and medical evidence required close attention. He prepares for trial and manages discovery, coordinating medical experts, engineers and other specialists when cases hinge on technical detail. In court he presents testimony and cross-examination aimed at clarifying liability and damages for jurors.

He practices at Guajardo & Marks, LLP, where he works alongside other trial lawyers. Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and persistent in pursuing claims through litigation when that is necessary. Clients bring serious-injury and wrongful-death matters and he pursues those claims through filing, pretrial preparation and trial where appropriate.

Outside the courtroom he remains involved in the trial law community through association work and board responsibilities. That engagement keeps him current on case law developments and trial techniques that affect personal injury litigation. He currently concentrates his practice on personal injury trial law at Guajardo & Marks, LLP.
