About Graham Douglas
Graham Douglas Donath grew up wanting to work in public service and law. He followed that path through college and law school, earning a Bachelor of Arts in government from Claremont McKenna College in 2001 and a Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2002. Those classroom years set the stage for a career shaped by criminal defense work in California.
He began his legal career in the public sector. In 2007 he served as a deputy public defender in Riverside County. That role placed him in courtrooms frequently and gave him steady courtroom experience defending people who could not afford private counsel. Three years later he moved into private practice as a partner at Stepanian & Donath LLP. In 2012 he opened his own firm and became owner and managing partner of what is now the Law Offices of Graham D. Donath, APC.
Donath is a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law through the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. That certification is one formal recognition of his emphasis on criminal matters. It also reflects the longer trajectory of his career, which moved from public defense into private criminal defense work and eventually firm leadership.
He remains involved in professional groups tied to criminal defense. He is listed as a current member of the California Public Defender’s Association, California Lawyers for Criminal Justice, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also serves on the Criminal Defense panel of Riverside County. Those memberships keep him connected to developments in criminal law and to colleagues who handle similar matters across the state.
