About Gordon A

Gordon A Byars earned his law degree from Lincoln Memorial University’s John J. Duncan, Jr. School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2013. He studied law in a program known for its practical emphasis and left school prepared for courtroom work. Classrooms, clinics and late nights studying procedure and trial practice shaped his early legal outlook.

After law school, Byars began his career in Tennessee. He is admitted to practice in the state and built experience representing clients in criminal matters. Early work included handling arraignments, negotiating pleas and appearing at hearings. He learned quickly that the day-to-day reality of criminal defense requires both attention to detail and an ability to explain complex rules in plain language to clients.

Over time, Byars moved into private practice and now operates from Byars Law Office. He represents people accused of crimes in state courts across Tennessee. His work covers common street-level offenses as well as more serious felony charges. He spends much of his time preparing motions, conducting investigations and managing case strategy for clients who often face stressful and uncertain circumstances.

Outside the office, Byars is active in the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He serves on the board for the Middle Tennessee region, a role that involves coordinating educational programs and networking for criminal defense attorneys. His participation in that group keeps him connected to changes in criminal law and to peers across the state who handle similar caseloads.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and direct in court. He prefers to present legal arguments clearly and without unnecessary flourishes. Clients who work with him can expect steady communication and practical explanations of their options at each stage of a case.

Byars maintains an interest in continuing legal education and professional development. He attends regional seminars and participates in discussions about evolving issues in criminal procedure. Those activities inform how he approaches discovery disputes, sentencing matters and pretrial litigation.

He practices criminal defense at Byars Law Office in Tennessee and remains involved in the local criminal defense bar through his board role. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients charged with criminal offenses in Tennessee courts.
