About Gloria
Gloria Cardenas trained at the University of California system. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA in 1982 and continued her legal studies at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, where she received her J.D. in 1987. Those years established the academic foundation she has relied on throughout a long legal career.
She has been a member of the California State Bar since 1991. Her practice extends beyond state lines because she handles federal immigration matters that have application in all 50 states. That national reach reflects the federal nature of immigration law and the variety of clients and issues that reach the federal docket.
Cardenas has combined private practice with frequent involvement in civic and business organizations. She served on the board of directors for the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2018, and she held a board position with TAG Ranch, LLC in 2017. Earlier, she served on the advisory committee of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and was part of the Utah Latino Legislative Task Force during the 2010–2011 period. She joined the Catholic Business Network of Utah’s board in 2011 and retains that role. For professional development and collegial contact, she has been an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2010.
Her office is listed as Familia America, LLC. Across her practice she deals with the kinds of federal immigration questions that require filings and proceedings in federal agencies and courts. Clients come to her for matters that cross state lines and for federal processes that apply nationwide. She maintains active membership in state and national legal groups, and she has combined those affiliations with service on local business and civic boards. Her current practice focuses on federal immigration law affecting individuals and families across the United States.
