About Glenn M.
Glenn M. Farnet began his legal training at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1987 and a Juris Doctor in 1990. The combination of a technical undergraduate degree and a law degree shaped an early interest in complex litigation and technical issues in the courtroom. He completed law school as the decade turned, ready to move into appellate and trial work.
After law school, Farnet served as a law clerk to the Honorable Luther F. Cole, Associate Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, in 1990. That clerkship placed him inside the state’s highest court, exposing him to appellate briefing and opinion drafting at an early stage in his career. The next year he joined Kean Miller LLP and became a partner in 1991. He has practiced at that firm for decades, working on matters that require both trial preparation and appellate strategy.
Farnet is admitted to practice in Louisiana and in several federal courts. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, and he is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Over time he has handled litigation across state and federal dockets. He appears in trial settings and in appellate proceedings, and he routinely works on filings that cross circuit and district lines.
He maintains memberships in a number of professional organizations that reflect the scope of his work. Those memberships include the Federal Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Fifth Circuit Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. He also holds membership in the Propane Gas Defense Association. These affiliations provide resources and a network for practitioners handling complex civil and commercial disputes.
At Kean Miller LLP, Farnet’s practice combines courtroom work, appellate advocacy and case management. He represents clients in litigation matters in state courts and in federal courts across Louisiana and the Fifth Circuit. He handles procedural strategy, briefs, motions and trial preparation. He practices civil defense and commercial litigation in state and federal courts.
