About Glen Edward
Glen Edward Ashman has built a long career in Georgia law that blends courtroom work, municipal service and judicial education. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in 1977 and completed his J.D. at Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in 1980. Those formative years set a steady course into practice and public service.
After law school Ashman began practicing in Georgia. He opened the Law Office of Glen E. Ashman in 1980 and has maintained a private practice since then. Early work in the firm covered a range of matters commonly handled by solo and small-firm attorneys in the state. Over time his work expanded to include roles that touched on local government and the judiciary.
In 1988 he took on a judicial role as Municipal Court Judge for the City of East Point, Georgia. The position required close attention to municipal ordinances, traffic matters and the routine yet consequential work of a local court. Serving as a municipal judge placed him at the intersection of community needs and legal procedure. It also gave him practical insight into how courts operate day to day.
Outside the courtroom Ashman has contributed to judicial education. In 2002 he served as a course instructor and speaker for the Institute for Continuing Judicial Education in Georgia and authored a benchbook used in that context. That work reflects experience interpreting law for judges and for other legal professionals who rely on clear guidance to handle frequently recurring issues.
Ashman is admitted to practice in Georgia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1980 and remains active in that professional community. His admissions and long-running membership speak to continuous engagement with the rules and obligations of the bar.
Today he continues to operate the Law Office of Glen E. Ashman. His practice remains rooted in the everyday demands of clients and the procedural knowledge gained from municipal judging and judicial education work. He handles matters that arise in Georgia and litigates when appropriate in federal appellate settings.
He maintains an active presence in the local legal community and balances practice with occasional educational work for judges and lawyers. His current practice focuses on providing counsel and representation in matters arising under Georgia law and in proceedings that may reach the Eleventh Circuit.
