About Ginger L.

Ginger L. Murray has built a career inside Wisconsin family courts and in private practice. Her path runs from court commissioner to law firm leader to the founder of a boutique family law practice. She is active in statewide professional groups that shape how divorce and family matters are handled.

Murray’s recorded public service began in the late 1990s. She served as a Family Court Commissioner in Forest County in 1999. A year later she took on the role of Oneida County Family Court Commissioner. In those positions she handled hearings, made judicial recommendations and worked with judges, attorneys and families on contested issues. That early work gave her direct experience with the daily operations of family court and the practical pressures faced by parents, guardians and children.

After her time on the bench, Murray moved into private practice and firm leadership. In 2004 she became president of Lawton & Cates. Her tenure there placed her in a firm management role as well as a practicing lawyer. She balanced administrative responsibilities with casework, overseeing staff and participating in strategy for family law matters handled by the firm.

In 2013 Murray founded Your Family Law Center and became its owner. She structured the practice to handle the kinds of contested and non-contested family matters she had seen in both the court system and private firm settings. As owner she manages case intake and client counseling and continues to appear in Wisconsin family courts. Her approach favors practical solutions that reflect courtroom realities.

Outside her practice Murray has remained involved in professional organizations. She serves on the board of the Wisconsin Interprofessional Committee on Divorce, where she holds the office of vice president. She also helped establish the Wisconsin chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and remains active in that organization. Those roles involve working with judges, mental health professionals and other attorneys to improve procedures for families going through separation and custody disputes.

Colleagues and clients know her for steady courtroom experience and for a long view of system improvements. She practices in Wisconsin and maintains an active role in the professional bodies that address family law policy and practice. Her current practice concentrates on family law matters in Wisconsin.
